Plastic Bags Can Harm Your Clothes

- Shape Retention Tip: Outline sweater shape before washing. After washing, put it on a white, terry towel and block shape to match outline.
- After each wearing, air out your sweater overnight to dry it out and deodorize it. It will look and smell fresher and will wrinkle less.
- When you go to the dry cleaner, carefully inspect sweaters for stains, open seams, stretched areas and remove shoulder pads. Ask about de-pilling.
- If a sweater is found to have moth damage, be sure to clean the sweater prior to having the moth damage repaired - in many cases additional holes and weakened areas can be revealed after the garment has gone through the cleaning process.
- Put fine sweaters in cold storage. Hallak's storage service for any season is a fabric life extender. Fine sweaters should be cleaned prior to being stored at the end of each season. Also avoid storing cleaned and uncleaned garments in the same storage area to minimize the potential for cross contamination in the event of insect damage.
